Five prompts. Pin a country. Rarer answers travel further.
Farflung is a daily geography trivia game you can play without limits in this unlimited edition. Each expedition gives you five prompts about countries, capitals, borders, languages, and more.
Explore the world map, choose a country that fits each clue, and drop your pin. There can be several correct answers, but the less obvious choices earn more distance, taking you closer to a perfect 500-kilometre journey.
Race the 60-second clock in Classic mode or explore at your own pace in untimed Wander mode. Discover the answers after every round, build your geography knowledge, and begin another expedition whenever you like—no waiting for tomorrow.
Read the geography prompt, then select a country by clicking the map or using the country search. Press Drop Pin to lock in your answer. You have one attempt per prompt and five prompts per expedition. After each round, check the field notes to see which countries were valid answers.
Yes. This edition lets you start another five-round expedition as soon as you finish. There is no daily play limit. Prompts are shuffled from a bank of 74 questions, with no repeats until the bank cycles.
A correct answer earns 40, 55, 70, 85, or 100 kilometres depending on its rarity tier. These are fixed editorial ratings of country familiarity, rather than live player statistics. Five top-tier answers earn the maximum 500 kilometres. Incorrect answers, skipped prompts, and timeouts earn no distance.
Classic mode gives you 60 seconds to choose and submit each pin. The countdown keeps running if you open the menu or switch tabs. For a slower journey, choose Wander before starting: it has the same five-round format with no timer.
The game includes 195 countries: the 193 United Nations member states, Palestine, and Vatican City. The map has no country-name labels, but you can zoom in or search for a country, including small island nations. Names and geographical groupings follow the game’s bundled atlas; individual prompts include notes where needed.
